Rangers have today announced the addition of 24-year-old midfielder Todd Cantwell from Norwich City.
Michael Beale has made his first addition to his Rangers squad as they announced the acquisition of playmaker Todd Cantwell. The Englishmen joins on a long-term deal from Norwich City, where made 129 appearances which include 45 Premier League appearances.
Cantwell has been capped for England at under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels. He will wear the number 13 on the back of his jersey whilst playing for the light blues.
The Norfolk-born midfielder spoke to RangersTV and said: "I am delighted and I feel very proud. This is obviously a massive football club and I am delighted to get going and get started."
"This is a massive club and there is a massive responsibility when you sign for Rangers to be the player that the fans want to see."
Manager Michael Beale had previously praised Todd Cantwell when asked about Rangers' interest, as he said:
"He's a player with a lot of ability and there will be a lot of interest in him.
"He's a player I like a lot."
Beale has had the chance to speak of the signing, saying this to RangersTV: "He is a player that is fully aligned to our playing style and we believe he will be a key player for the club in the coming seasons."
Rangers play host to St. Johnstone as the second part of a double-header on Saturday as they return to league action after a 1-0 win in Perth as they continue their Scottish Cup journey.
