Rangers "Well prepared" ahead of semi-final clash

James Tavernier has been speaking to media at Hampden ahead of the Viaplay semi-final against Aberdeen on Sunday.

The Rangers captain told media today that everyone remains united at Rangers, despite the potential of 9 outgoings in the summer as players' contracts run down.

Tavernier said: “It’s a difficult one. As long as I know they are committed to the team then it’s something I always stand back from and let the player decide or the club decide.

“My concern is the well-being of the team and I know all of the players who are heading towards the end of their contracts and we all have to fully focus on the team and what’s at hand."

Tavernier, 31, said that he is really looking forward to the semi-final after a good week of training and preparation. The right-back then went onto talk about the "grit and determination" shown in the 3-2 win at Pittodrie on the 20th December, but how a much better performance will be needed as they continue to improve under Michael Beale's leadership.

Rangers come into this one on the back of a 2-0 win at Tannadice, their first win at Dundee United since 2020. Goals from Fashion Sakala and Malik Tillman saw Rangers keep their slim hopes of a title race alive.
